The $2 notebook tip from a stranger at my bus stop saved me $60 this month
Honestly, I was waiting for the 7:15 bus in Austin and this older lady next to me was scribbling in this beat-up notebook. She saw me staring at my phone budget app and said, 'Paper don't lie, apps do.' I laughed but then she showed me her system, every coffee, every gas fill, just written down with the total at the end of the week. I tried it for 3 weeks and caught $14 in small fees and $46 in impulse snacks I never noticed on my card. The app was hiding the tiny stuff behind pretty charts, but writing it out made every dollar feel real. Has anyone else ditched the digital tracker for a physical list, or am I just turning into my grandma?
