Warning: my simple budget spreadsheet fix took a whole weekend
I tried to merge my partner's spending data with mine in Google Sheets, but the date formats were a mess. What I thought would take an hour ended up needing two full days to clean up and get right. Has anyone else hit a wall with something that seemed easy at first?

Might have saved you some time with the TEXT function for those dates. What format were they in?

Oh man, that hits close to home. I have been in that exact spot, staring at a screen until my eyes blur, all over some messed up data. It is crazy how a simple date column can turn into a total weekend killer. I feel your pain.

Ever think the real problem is how we're taught to handle dates from the start? Most tutorials just show the easy cases, not the real world mess. No wonder it eats up our weekends.
