Went to the local library and saw a bunch of people printing out spreadsheet templates

I noticed almost every person at the public computers was working on some kind of budget tracker, not just checking email like I expected, anyone else see this kind of thing at their library?

Libraries really have become community financial hubs in a way. At my local branch, I see people printing out budget sheets and debt payoff trackers almost every time I visit. The reference desk even has a folder with different spreadsheet templates they keep restocked because so many ask for them. It makes sense when you think about how many families are trying to get their finances in order without paying for fancy software.

Never thought about the free software angle, but you're totally right @jessicaflores - I bet a lot of those people are just trying to avoid subscription creep from stuff like YNAB or EveryDollar. Kinda wild that libraries are quietly becoming the place where you can get free tax filing help and spreadsheet lessons without anyone pushing a paid product on you.
