DAE just stop making weekly spreads and use one running list instead
I tried the whole pretty weekly layout thing for about 8 months and it always fell apart by Wednesday. I'd spend 20 minutes on a Sunday drawing boxes and shading headers, then Monday would throw 6 surprise jobs at me and the whole page was junk by Tuesday night. Last month I said forget it and switched to one plain running list per week, no boxes, no themes, no columns. I write the date on the left, dump every task in a single line down the page, and mark them as I go. It takes me 2 minutes to set up on Monday morning and nothing gets lost. The weird part is I'm actually getting more done now than when the pages looked nice, because I'm not babysitting a layout. The downside is my notebook looks boring and I can't flip back to find stuff as fast. Has anyone else ditched the weekly spread for something plain, or am I going to regret this in 6 months when I can't find anything?
Heard a guy on a podcast say he does the exact same thing, one long list per week and a separate index page at the back for anything he needs to find again. That index trick might fix your flipping-back problem. Setup stays fast but you can still locate stuff later.
