Gave the monthly log a real shot after 6 years of skipping it
I've been journaling since 2018 but always thought the monthly log was pointless, just duplicate work. Last month I finally tried it with just future events and deadlines, no tasks. Turns out my brain really needed that bird's eye view. I found three conflicts I would have missed until the week of, including a vet appointment and a client site visit on the same day. Now I'm wondering if I should do a quarterly spread too, or is that overkill? Has anyone else had a system they ignored for years that actually changed things up?
Took me four years to stop treating my weekly review like a chore and actually do it every Sunday. Turns out I was missing half my appointments because I only looked at my daily pages, not the whole week at once. The moment it clicked was when I caught two shifts scheduled over each other because I'd written one on Tuesday's page and one on Thursday's without checking back. Now I do a quick 10 minute scan every Sunday night and it saves me so much scrambling.
