Heard a guy at the craft store say he only uses his bullet journal for work tasks and it clicked for me.

I realized I'd been forcing myself to track habits and moods for months, but dropping all that and just using it to manage my tree service jobs has made me actually stick with it for the first time in a year.

That part about forcing yourself to track habits and moods is so real. I tried to make a journal my whole life coach once, with water intake and gratitude lists. It felt like homework. Now I just scribble down the weird stuff my cat does and what I want to watch later. It's the only notebook I haven abandoned in a drawer after two weeks.

Totally get that. My bullet journal had a whole color-coded sleep tracker that just made me stressed about being bad at sleeping. @the_nina might be onto something with the homework idea, but maybe the trick is making the homework fun. Like my friend only tracks movies she hates and gives them sarcastic star ratings. It's still data, but it's data about something you actually care about.

But @simonl11, what if the homework is the good part?
