How my bullet journal went from a messy scribble to a real system over 4 months

I started bullet journaling back in March just to keep track of my shift schedule at the warehouse. First few weeks it was just random tasks and appointments crammed in with no order. Around month two I noticed I kept flipping back to find stuff I wrote down but couldn't locate. So I started using a simple index and numbered my pages. By month three I added a monthly spread with a habit tracker for drinking water and taking breaks. The real shift came when I stopped trying to make it pretty and just wrote what I needed. Now at month four I've got a daily log that actually saves me time at work. Has anyone else hit that point where your journal just clicks into place?

Totally feel you on that click moment. It took me around three months too before everything started feeling natural and less like a chore. That shift from trying to be neat to just writing what matters is huge.

Three months actually felt way too long for me. I'm at five months now and it's still a struggle every single day. The whole "write what matters" idea sounds good but my brain refuses to cooperate. I still spend like 30 minutes just staring at a blank page trying to figure out what's actually important. And when I do write something it reads like a robot threw up a grocery list. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but the "click" keeps not happening for me no matter how much I try to force it. Feel like everyone else got the memo except me.
