I was dead wrong about those fancy dotted notebooks being a waste of money

For two years I used a $2 composition book for my bullet journal and swore anything fancier was just marketing. Then my sister gave me a Leuchtturm1917 for my birthday last month and I finally get it. The pages lay flat without me having to break the spine, the dots are actually faint enough to ignore, and no ink bleeds through even with my cheap Pilot G2 pens. It's a small thing but it made me actually look forward to opening my journal every morning instead of fighting with the binding. Has anyone else had a gear upgrade that totally flipped your routine?

bruh it's a notebook. you're acting like this thing cured your depression and fixed your sleep schedule lmao. i get that it's nice when stuff works but a notebook making you "look forward" to journaling is giving main character energy over a piece of paper. my cheap walmart spiral does the same job and i don't have to pay $20+ for the privilege. you do you but this reads like an ad tbh.

Ngl my cheap spiral is literally held together with washi tape and broken promises but I still reach for it every night because it smells like my spilled coffee. Having a "journaling ritual" just means I get to feel fancy for ten minutes before I inevitably write "today was weird" and close it again. At least if I spent twenty bucks on it I can pretend the guilt of wasting money is motivation to fill more pages.

Try a cheap composition notebook and a decent pen instead, saved me twenty bucks and it still feels special. Sometimes it's just about finding what makes you open the thing consistently.
