Mapping out my novel's plot in my bullet journal kept me from quitting
I was stuck on chapter three for weeks, but breaking down each scene into tasks and deadlines in my journal made the process manageable. Seeing the entire arc visually laid out gave me the momentum to push through. Has anyone else used bullet journaling for creative writing projects?

Ever tried a dedicated story notebook separate from your daily log? Color coding plot arcs with highlighters makes the structure pop visually.

What system do you use for deadlines in your journal, like do you have a separate calendar spread or just weekly logs? I totally get how breaking scenes into tiny tasks can save a project, I even color code plot threads so I can see pacing at a glance. When I hit a wall, I sketch out rough dialogue in the margins, it keeps the flow going without pressure. Staring at a blank page is the worst, but having that visual roadmap makes it feel like you're just connecting dots instead of creating from scratch.

You're spot on with the margin sketches, @lopez.jamie, that's brilliant. I've actually started using a completely separate junk notebook for those messy brain dumps because I can't bear to ruin my pristine bujo spreads, it frees me up to be truly chaotic.
