My coworker Rachel showed me her weekly spread after years of me using a monthly only
She drew a tiny coffee cup next to every morning on her daily log and I realized my minimalist approach was just avoiding the whole point of tracking habits, has anyone else had a simple thing from someone else's journal completely change how you use yours?

Totally get this, same thing happened to me. I saw a buddy draw a little wave next to every day he exercised and it blew my mind. I always thought trackers had to be super complicated color coded systems, but his simple little doodle just made it stick. Now I draw a lightning bolt next to my daily language practice and it honestly changed how I feel about looking at the page. It's wild how a tiny visual cue can make you actually want to keep up with a habit instead of just listing it.

Ngl, @bens81 I gotta push back a little on the lightning bolt thing. You're totally right that simple doodles are life-changing but I feel like a lightning bolt implies something fast or electric, not consistent daily practice. A small language streak is more like a steady drip, not a zap. For me, I started putting a tiny plant emoji next to days I actually read, and it made me feel like I was growing something instead of checking off a chore. The metaphor behind the symbol matters more than the symbol itself, if that makes sense.
