My sister said my bullet journal looked like a 'messy art project'

She said that last month while we were having coffee at my kitchen table. I had my journal open to a weekly spread with some simple doodles and color coding. It made me realize I might be focusing too much on making it pretty instead of useful. Do you ever feel pressure to make your spreads look perfect?

My first bullet journal in 2019 was just black pen on grid paper, super basic. The pressure to make it instagram-worthy totally changed how I used it and I stopped for a whole year. Now I keep a separate sketchbook for the pretty stuff and my actual bujo is just rapid logging. If it works for you, that's all that matters, even if it looks messy.
