Pencil drafts changed my whole bujo game for the better

Way less stress about making things perfect right away, lol.

Honestly, I always went straight to pen and got so frustrated. Pencil first sounds way smarter, lets you fix stuff easy.

Based on stuff I've read, the pencil-first approach is hugely popular for a reason. It gives you room to fix errors without starting over. A cartoonist I follow online always stresses how pencil sketches save her from big mistakes. In my experience, it makes the whole process less scary. Your mileage may vary, but it's a low-risk way to work. After trying it, going straight to pen feels like a dare.

So you pencil everything in first, but how do you decide what actually gets inked later? I tried this once and ended up with a whole page of pencil scribbles I was too scared to trace over, so I just left it looking like a ghost page. Do you have a rule for yourself, like pencil it and then immediately ink it, or do you let the draft sit for a while?
