PSA: Using a fine tip pen completely changed my habit tracker

I kept messing up my habit tracker because the thicker pen I was using would bleed into the next square. So I switched to a 0.3mm Micron pen and it made a huge difference. Now my squares stay clean and I can fit more lines in each box. Has anyone else found a pen tip size that works best for tiny tracking grids?

Disagree completely. Thicker pens force you to slow down and be deliberate with each mark. That discipline matters more than clean lines. Fine tips just let you rush through and make sloppy records anyway. Plus thick pens feel satisfying, like you're actually committing to the habit.

My uncle was a carpenter, and he always said the same thing about hammers. He'd refuse to use the lightweight ones, swore by this old heavy claw hammer that probably weighed twice as much. Said the weight forced him to think about every swing, made each nail count. Funny how that same idea shows up with pens, never thought about it that way before. Maybe there's something to having that extra resistance that keeps you honest with whatever you're doing.

Did that friend ever smash their thumb with it?
