Spent $28 on a stencil set and it wrecked my whole weekly layout

I saw everyone's fancy trackers on here and bought this 12-piece stencil kit from an art supply shop downtown, thinking it would make my spreads look like a pro made them. Turns out I spent an hour trying to line up the circles and boxes, and my page ended up looking like a kindergartner's coloring book with smudged ink everywhere. Anyone else get tricked into buying fancy tools that just slow you down, or do you stick to a simple ruler and call it good?

Took me three tries just to draw a straight line with that stupid stencil. Ended up tracing a coffee mug for my habit tracker instead. Ruler and a good pen beat all that fancy junk every time. At least my mug circles looked intentional.

Wait, so did you actually stick with the mug circles, or did you just give up on the whole tracker thing after that? @terry_wood51, I gotta know if the coffee cup method ended up working out long term or if it was just a one day fix.
