That fancy $50 pen I bought for my bujo writes worse than a Bic from the drugstore
I was so sure spending more meant better quality. Bought this expensive fountain pen from a shop in Portland after seeing everyone rave about them online. First week it was fine, then it started skipping and leaking ink all over my habit tracker. Switched back to a $3 Bic and my spreads look cleaner than ever. Anyone else waste money on hype gear that just gave them headaches?

read this thing from a blogger who collects pens and she said most of the markup is branding, not performance lol. my $12 Pilot Metro works fine but my friend's $200 one is a nightmare.

Totally agree. I bought a fancy $150 pen once and it skipped and leaked constantly while my $15 Lamy Safari has been going strong for YEARS.
