That one coworker who told me my bullet journal was 'too messy' in front of the whole team

Back in March, Sarah from accounting glanced at my rapid-logging page during a lunch break and said, 'You know, the whole point is to be neat, right?' which made me rethink if I even belong in this community, has anyone else had someone gatekeep your journal setup like that?

Isn't it funny how people feel the need to police stuff that's not hurting anyone? It's like everyone's got this idea of the "right way" to do things and they forget it's okay to just make it your own.

See I get what you're saying but I don't fully agree. Sometimes the "policing" comes from people who've spent a lot of time learning something and they just want to protect the craft from being totally watered down. Like there's a difference between making something your own and just doing it wrong because you didn't bother to learn the basics first. If you're cooking and you swap out an ingredient because you're allergic that's one thing. But if you skip a whole step because you're lazy and then call it "your own style" that's different. Not everything needs to be a free for all where nobody can say anything.
