TIL a lot of people skip the 'future log' section entirely

Honestly, it's the only thing that keeps my quarterly goals from getting lost in the weekly pages. Anyone else find it's the backbone of their whole system?

Yeah, I treat the future log like a holding pen for anything that pops up outside the current month. Without it, those "someday" tasks just vanish into thin air. It's the only way I can keep a clean weekly spread without losing track of bigger picture stuff. The whole system falls apart for me if I skip that step.

That future log trick is smart, keeps the clutter out. @eva908 is right about the mental airlock thing, it stops the noise. What gets me is how it also forces you to actually look ahead when you sit down to plan the next month. You have to face all those notes you parked there. Makes it harder to just ignore stuff you don't want to do.

Totally, @cameronmurray, it's like a mental airlock so random ideas don't wreck your focus.
