Tried a minimalist weekly spread after months of over-designed pages

I've been bullet journaling for like 2 years now and my spreads always had washi tape, stickers, and like 8 different colors. Last week I was so tired after a 10 hour mail route I just drew a simple grid with a black pen for my weekly layout. No frills at all. Turns out I actually got more done because I wasn't spending 20 minutes decorating before writing tasks. Anyone else find that simpler spreads work better for actually tracking stuff?

Heard the same from my buddy who delivers mail - she ditched the washi tape too.

Hate that for her, washi tape is such a fun little extra.

Wait, are you saying you actually got more done with just a basic grid and a black pen? I used to think all those fancy supplies were the whole point of bullet journaling, honestly. I was the person with the washi tape collection and the sticker stash, and I felt like I was making something beautiful. But last month I tried a real simple layout for a week because I was traveling and forgot my supplies, and it totally changed my mind. It was way easier to stay on top of my tasks since I wasn't distracted by picking colors or taping stuff down. Maybe the extras are fun for some people, but for actually getting stuff done, I think the basic approach works better for me now.
