A decade up in the canopy, now they want me behind a desk.

I've spent ten years climbing and cutting trees. My company just offered me a manager role that's mostly paperwork. I'm not sure if I should accept because I love being outside. Has anyone else faced a choice like this? How did you decide?

That "behind a desk" shift hits so many trade workers, right?

Yeah, that move to desk jobs is a real trend. I read an article saying lots of trade workers switch for better hours or after an injury. It makes sense but must be a big change for them.

Ever think about the mental shift from working with your hands? My buddy made that switch and said it messed with his head for months, @taylor_butler. Hard to go from fixing things to just pushing paper.
