Had to choose between a stable property management gig and a higher paying sales job last year

I picked the safe route because of the recession fears, and now I'm watching my buddy who took the sales job buy a house while I'm still stuck here fixing leaky toilets for three years running - anyone else regret playing it too safe when the economy was shaky?

Watching my buddy who took the sales job buy a house" - yeah, for now lol. Wait until the next downturn hits and his commission checks dry up, then see who's laughing with a mortgage they can't afford. Playing it safe in shaky times is how you keep sleeping at night, man.

I feel you on that, @knight.mason. It's hard watching someone take a risk like that and it pay off right now, but you're right that things can flip fast. The stability angle makes sense, especially when the economy is this weird.
