Hit 1000 cold calls in 6 months and it flipped my thinking
I started a sales job back in March in Austin. I kept track of every call I made. This week I hit the 1000th call mark. I thought it would feel like a grind but it actually showed me something. The first 200 calls were awful. I stuttered and people hung up. But around call 400 I stopped caring about rejection. By call 800 I was getting a yes every 10 calls. The number surprised me because I figured I'd quit way before. It proved that just doing the work over and over changes how you feel about it. Has anyone else seen a big shift after hitting a certain number?

Man, is it really the number or just the point where your brain finally gave up on caring?

Think it's both, honestly. I hit my mid-thirties and suddenly realized I had no idea what was cool anymore and (even weirder) I didn't care one bit. It's like your brain gives up on caring first, and then the number just tags along to make it official or something.

Exactly @grace_knight70. Give up on caring first then the number shows up to confirm what you already figured out. I swear my brain hit that switch around 32 and I haven't looked back since.
