My mentor told me to stop asking for raises and start asking this instead
I kept getting the same 3% every year no matter how hard I worked, so I finally asked my old supervisor over coffee what I was doing wrong. He said to stop asking for a raise and start asking what problem the company would pay to make go away, so I did that and got a $9,000 bump within 4 months. Has anyone else tried this angle, or did your boss see right through it?
