My trainer at the gym in Dallas said one thing about raises that I still think about 4 months later
I was complaining about not getting a raise and he asked if I had ever actually asked for one in writing, which I hadn't in 3 years at that company, so I typed up a short email that night and got a 7 percent bump two weeks later, and now I'm curious how many people out there have never put the ask in writing either?
Wow, three years and you never put it in writing once? That blows my mind a little. I figured most people at least send an email now and then. Guess not. Seven percent just from one short email is wild. Makes me wonder how many folks are out there just hoping someone notices them. Asking out loud is scary enough, but typing it up makes it real I guess. Two weeks later too, that part really gets me.
