Talking less in interviews got me a better offer than my usual oversharing

I used to ramble through every question in Charlotte for years until I started pausing 3 full seconds after each answer, and the hiring manager literally said "you're the first candidate who listens" before bumping my salary by $8k, has anyone else tried silence as a strategy?
