That moment you realize your resume is lying without meaning to
I was helping a buddy rewrite his resume last weekend and he kept saying he "managed a team" at a restaurant. Turns out he just did the schedule sometimes when the manager was out. I think a lot of people stretch things like that without even realizing it, just because they heard someone else say it. But then when you actually get asked about it in an interview, it falls apart fast. Has anyone else had to talk a friend down from overselling their experience like that?

@julia_carter70 I get what you're saying about it being a game, but I knew a guy who said he "led a marketing campaign" and it turned out his job was just handing out flyers outside a grocery store. The interviewer pressed him on it and he froze up hard. It's a mess when you can't back it up.

Your buddy padded his resume a little. Big deal. Everyone does it to some degree, it's basically a game at this point. If he can talk through it in an interview, he'll be fine.
