Turned down a $15k raise to stay at my current shop and wondering if I made the right call

I was this close to taking a job at a bigger dealership last month. They offered me $15k more plus benefits. But then I sat down and thought about my commute going from 15 minutes to nearly an hour each way. Also my current boss lets me leave early on Fridays to pick up my kid from school. That flexibility is worth something right? I know I could use the extra cash but my quality of life would tank. Anyone else turn down more money for a better schedule?

Heard a podcast recently that talked about how people regret turning down flexibility way more than they regret turning down money. Honestly that 15 minute commute and leaving early on Fridays sounds like a solid trade off to me.

And isn't it funny how we only figure that out after chasing the bigger paycheck for years? Time is the one thing you can't get back no matter how much money you make.
