Warning: I totally blanked on a client's name during a big meeting

Honestly, I was in a video call with a new team in Chicago and my brain just froze when I went to introduce them. Tbh, it was dead silent for like 10 seconds. I just said 'Hey everyone, good to see you all' and moved on, then slid their actual name into the chat after. Ngl, I felt my face get hot. Has anyone else found a smooth way to recover from a memory slip like that without making it a whole thing?

Honestly what you did is pretty much the move. A quick "great to see everyone" covers the intro. I've started keeping a sticky note on my monitor with the key names for a call, just as a backup. Most people don't even notice the slip if you keep rolling.

That sticky note trick is everywhere now. I saw a guy at the coffee shop with names written on his hand before a zoom call.

Notice how often we all fake it through small talk because names slip our minds. Your quick save with the chat message is basically the standard move now. We've all gotten weirdly good at covering these tiny blanks without missing a beat.
