A framer from Boise told me to stop using my speed square for everything

He saw me trying to mark a long angle with it and said, 'That little thing's for speed, not for true. Grab a framing square for anything over 24 inches.' I'd been doing it the hard way for ages... what's one tool you were using wrong?
