Building my own cabinet changed my mind on dovetail joints

Hand-cut dovetails are stronger and look way better than machine-made ones.

Nah, they're mostly just for show. A good box joint is just as strong for most projects. People get way too hung up on the old way of doing things.

My first dovetail was so wobbly, I thought they were overrated. But seeing how rock solid they are in my old tool chest changed my ENTIRE perspective.
