Got called out on my crown molding cuts by a finish guy from Portland

He said my spring angles were off by a degree or two, which is why my joints never looked tight under paint. I was using a basic miter saw and eyeballing it. He showed me how to set a digital angle finder on the wall first, then transfer that exact number to the saw. Changed my whole process. Now I check every corner before cutting, even if it adds five minutes per room. Anyone else have a simple tool that fixed a nagging problem?

That digital angle finder is a total game changer for sure.

Remember when we used to eyeball everything? So many bad cuts.

Honestly though, how bad were those cuts really. A little wood filler fixes most of it, and you got the job done. Maybe we just overthink it now.
