How a bookshelf project turned me around on detailed quotes
I used to give quick quotes for carpentry jobs to save time. Then a client for a built-in bookshelf project added three extra shelves mid-job. Dealing with that mess showed me that a full list of materials and labor costs upfront is key. It stops scope creep and keeps everyone happy.

Honestly, is it that big of a deal to just add a few shelves? Tbh a good carpenter should be able to handle a small change without making a whole new contract.
