I used to cut stair stringers with a framing square and a pencil, now it's all a phone app
Back in 2006 I laid out my first set of stringers in my dad's garage in Dayton with a framing square and a carpenter's pencil, and it took me almost 2 hours to get the rise and run right. Now I just punch the numbers into a stair calculator app on my phone and it spits out the layout in about 30 seconds, which honestly feels like cheating some days. Anyone else feel weird about how much of the layout math we've handed over to our phones, or is it just me being old?
