Sawed into a hidden nail on a job site last Tuesday

I was cutting a reclaimed beam for a fireplace mantle and my brand new Diablo blade hit something hard. Turns out someone buried a 16 penny nail right in the middle of the wood, cost me $35 for a new blade. Has anyone else hit hidden metal in "clean" lumber?

@faithwalker hit the nail on the head with that cedar story - I found a piece of rebar in what was supposed to be "clear" pine last year. It's ridiculous how often they miss that stuff, especially when you're paying extra for the clean stuff. Maybe it's just me but I swear they bury that metal just to mess with us.

Dude that sucks! Found an old rusty spike in a piece of "clean" cedar last month.

Hear you but honestly I've had pretty good luck with the clean cedar lately.
