Serious question, I heard a plumber say 'measure twice, cut once' is outdated

He was arguing for a digital angle finder on every cut, saying eyeballing it wastes more time than setting up the tool. Honestly, I tried it on a tricky crown molding job in a 1920s bungalow and it saved me a ton of headache. Anyone else moved past the old saying for specific tasks?

Old sayings can't beat a good laser level.

Is this really a serious debate? The old saying is about being careful, not about refusing to use a good tool. A digital finder is just a better way to measure.
