Spent 3 hours on a simple cabinet hinge replacement
Thought I could swap out a soft-close hinge in 20 minutes. Nope - old screw holes were stripped and I had to drill new pilot holes with a jig. Anyone else find hidden damage mid-job that doubles your time?

Oh man, that is the story of my life right there. Had the exact same thing happen with a bathroom faucet last month, stripped supply line nut that turned a 30 minute job into an afternoon.

Man, I feel that pain. Three hours for something you thought was a quick swap is just brutal, especially when you find those stripped holes and have to fix all the old mistakes. It's always the "simple" jobs that hide the worst surprises, isn't it?
