Stop using finish nails to hang cabinet doors, I've had to fix three jobs this week

I swear I've pulled 20 loose cabinet doors off hinges this month in St. Louis where someone used 16 gauge finish nails instead of proper screws into the frame. The nails just wiggle loose after a few months of opening and closing, especially on heavy shaker doors. How do you guys get homeowners to let you do it right from the start without them thinking you're upselling?

Right, because a couple months of door slamming is totally the same stress test as a shelf full of canned goods.

Oh man, that's the thing though. People push back on this stuff like it's all or nothing, but a little prep goes a long way. I've seen the same logic with people who won't buy a backup charger because they don't think their phone will ever die.
