Unpopular opinion: I was wrong about my old way of cutting crown molding

For years I'd measure and cut it flat on the saw, always getting a little gap. Last month on a job in Tacoma, another carpenter showed me to hold it against the fence at the exact spring angle. The fit is perfect now. How do you guys handle those tricky inside corners?

Seriously though, where do you even draw the line? Half the stuff labeled a life hack is just normal adult skills people never learned. Honestly feels like the term got so watered down it just means "a thing you can do" now.
