My new induction burner quit mid-service last Saturday, brutal timing

We were 40 minutes into dinner rush, tickets backed up, and my induction top just died. No beep, no error code, just a blank screen like it lost its mind completely. I had to scramble and finish the duck breast on the gas range out back, which threw off my whole timing. The repair guy said the power board fried, and it's gonna cost $320 to fix, versus $450 for a new one. I'm leaning toward just replacing it, but I've been burned by cheap knockoffs before. Has anyone else had an induction unit fail like this, and did you repair or replace yours?

Mine crapped out the same way two summers ago, 20 minutes before a wedding reception of 90 people. No warning, just dead, and I had to pan-sear 40 portions of halibut on a flattop that was way too hot. I paid the $300 to fix it because the replacement I found online had terrible reviews about the heating element dying after six months. The repair held up for another two years, so honestly, I'd say fix it if you can wait the few days for the part.
