A guy at the hardware store last month made me rethink 'the customer is always right'

He tried to return a power drill he clearly broke himself, and when I said no, he yelled 'I know the owner!' right in my face. I checked, and he didn't. Has anyone else had someone try that line on them?

Just ask for the owner's name next time.

My uncle actually owns a hardware store, and that line works maybe once.

That line is so overused it's basically a joke. I once had a guy try it and the "owner" he named was just some other customer from last week. It really shows they have no real argument.
