Can we talk about the time a customer tried to return a 3-year-old toaster because it 'stopped working' last week?

My buddy who works at an electronics store had a guy try to return a five year old coffee maker. The customer brought it in with the original box and receipt, all dusty, and said it just quit. My friend had to explain the one year warranty was a little past. The guy argued for twenty minutes that a good machine should last forever.

He kept the box for five years? That's the real shocker. My coffee maker box went to recycling the same afternoon. Where do you even store a box that long, a special closet for empty cardboard? I guess some people are just box hoarders by nature.

My uncle kept his old VCR for 15 years thinking he could trade it in, @sam17. Some people just get really attached to their stuff, right?
