PSA from a trip to the county fair: watch out for the guy running the ring toss who keeps changing the distance.
I visited the county fair last weekend and noticed the ring toss operator would slide the bottle rack closer whenever a kid walked up, then push it back when adults tried, and a dad next to me lost $32 before he realized what was happening, has anyone else seen this kind of shady move at your local fairs?

The part about the "32 dollars before he realized what was happening" really hits home because that kind of money adds up fast, especially for a family outing. I've seen similar things at our local carnival with the milk bottle game where they grease the bottles so they slide off instead of staying stacked. It's disappointing that these operators count on people being distracted or just trusting it's a fair game.

Ngl, that "32 dollars before he realized what was happening" line really gets me. It's so easy to lose track when you're trying to have a good time with your family, and these operators know exactly how to take advantage of that. The greased bottles thing is a classic move too, I've seen that at a fair near me where they use these heavy rubber rings that barely fit over the milk jugs. It's just sad because you're hyping up your kids thinking you'll win them a prize, but the game is rigged from the start. Honestly, it makes you wonder how many families walk away feeling ripped off instead of having a fun memory.
