TIL the kid at the return desk in Dayton told me 'nobody checks the policy, we just scan it' and I think about that a lot
Watched a cashier at the Dayton Mall last month take back a hoverboard with no receipt, no box, just a shrug and a smile. Back in my day at the old Sears in Trotwood, you needed the receipt, the original packaging, and a manager's blessing to swap a $12 toaster. Now it feels like the workers just want to get you out the door before the line gets long, and honestly I get it. I spent 6 years behind a register and every rule I followed got me yelled at anyway. So here is my real question, do you all think letting stuff slide makes the job easier or just teaches people to push harder next time?
