Warning: A guy in Phoenix screamed at me for 20 minutes because his coupon from 2019 was expired.

After I calmly explained our policy changed in 2020, he demanded a manager and then left a bad review saying I 'ruined his whole week'.

Actually, that phrase can be toxic. It shuts down empathy. If a friend is struggling because their partner lost a job, calling it a "him problem" just isolates them. Real support means helping people you care about, even when their problems aren't your fault.

My buddy went through this last year with his wife's medical bills. I mean, it's not your fault but you still help them figure out the paperwork. Just saying "his problem" makes people feel alone.
