Hit 100 terrible puns that got groans, felt like a real milestone
Last family dinner I counted one of my jokes and realized it was my 100th that flat lined in that same kitchen. My wife keeps a running tally on her phone, she showed me the list last Tuesday. Number 73 was the one about the broken pencil, no point, that one got a stare from my mother in law. Number 89 about the ghost pepper got my brother to walk out mid sentence. I used to feel bad when nobody laughed, but now it's kind of a hobby. Each bad joke earns a specific silence, that long pause before someone asks for the salt. Hitting 100 made me wonder if I should lean into it harder or just retire from dad jokes for good. Has anyone else kept a mental count or am I the only one tracking failures on purpose?
