I went to my brother's cookout last Sunday and his neighbor told a joke about a priest, a rabbi, and a plumber. It fell so flat that someone actually asked if he was okay. But here's the thing, I think the awkward silence is what makes dad jokes work. The real humor is watching the guy double down and explain the punchline while everyone stares at their burgers. Am I the only one who laughs harder at the recovery than the joke itself?
