I used to roll my eyes at punny wedding toasts, then my cousin's bombed so hard I get it now
Last month at my cousin's reception in Dayton, his best man opened with a joke about the bride's 'ring' being a 'wrestling move' and the whole table just stared at their salads. I always thought those corny dad-style roasts were harmless, but watching the silence stretch for 12 seconds flipped my view completely. Has anyone else had a joke you hated suddenly make sense after you watched a cringier version ruin a room?

Twelve seconds of silence feels like an hour, I swear. That wrestling move bit made me flinch just reading it, like a full body cringe from across the internet. Honestly, that's the kind of thing that makes you rethink every corny joke you've ever laughed at.
