My "helpful" pun about the leaky faucet got me banned from my sister's dinner
Last Thanksgiving at my sister's place in Austin, the kitchen sink was dripping nonstop. I thought I'd be clever and said, "Don't worry, I'll fix it, but only if you promise not to call me a drip." My brother-in-law laughed, but my sister gave me this stone cold stare and said the joke made her feel like I was calling her house a mess. Thing is, I was actually about to grab my wrench and fix it for free, but after that, nobody talked to me for the rest of the meal. She still brings it up at every family gathering, a full two years later. Anyone else have a harmless plumbing pun that somehow turned into a family feud?}
