PSA: My 6 dollar pun jar at the office backfired hard, HR got involved

So I put a jar labeled "Dumb Joke Fee" by the coffee machine and figured coworkers would toss a quarter when my jokes flopped. That backfired when I made a bad pun about a contractor's saw and he thought the jar was for rating my work. He left a 20 in it and complained to my boss that I was charging for shoddy repairs. Spent an hour explaining to HR that the jar was just for laughs, and now I'm banned from decorations. Anyone else get in trouble for a joke prop gone sideways?
