Unpopular opinion: the 'your mom' joke at my kids' school assembly was a definite slow clap silence moment
I was at PTA open house last Tuesday and tried a light 'your mom goes to college' quip during the principal's welcome speech, which got crickets until one dad muttered 'too soon' and now I'm banned from volunteering at Benjamin Franklin Elementary for six months.

You probably shouldn't be cracking 'your mom' jokes at a school event, right? In my experience, that stuff only works with your own friends, not in front of a bunch of parents and teachers. Maybe stick to kid friendly puns next time if you ever get unbanned.
