Why does everyone say my joke about the turkey was wrong?
I told my niece that the reason the turkey was dry was because it was on a diet, and she got all offended saying I was making fun of her mom's cooking. Has anyone else had a harmless joke blow up in their face like this?

Is a turkey diet joke really worth getting worked up over? Kids these days take everything so literally, it's like you can't crack a simple pun without them reading into it. She'll probably laugh about it later when she gets older, you know, once she realizes cooking mishaps happen to everyone.
